Segmented Bowl Designer

Draw the half-profile. The 3D bowl and the numbers build themselves as you go.

  • Per-ring segment counts and miter angles, worked out as you draw
  • Live 3D — tip it and look straight down inside before you glue a ring
  • Segment-face patterns — quilt blocks, chevrons, monograms
  • The ring cut list — OD/ID, wall, height, miter and segment length, by species
  • Nothing to install — it opens full screen in your browser

First cut list free · then $6.00 per cut list — your first purchase includes one bonus cut list

Why $99?

Segmented-turning software runs $89 to $169, and it does one job well: the numbers for the lathe. Segmented Bowl Designer gives you those too — then takes the same design all the way to a finished, printable, glue-ready result. For less than the software that only does the first part.

Questions before you buy

Do I need to install anything?
Not for the browser app — it runs in any modern web browser. The desktop app is a Windows download you activate with your order number, and it works offline.
What files can I export?
Both apps print the cut list, true-size ring templates, pattern-cut guides, the stave, lid and floating-base sheets and a quote, and both export an STL for 3D printing. The desktop app adds a colour 3MF for multi-filament printing with real inlay pieces, a Blender (GLB) export, and the segment kit and strip-and-mitre sheets. In the browser these need a cut list; on the desktop they are unlimited.
Do I need to know CAD or 3D software?
No. You draw the half-profile and the app builds the 3D bowl, the ring stack and the full cut list for you.
Is the desktop version Windows only?
Yes — the desktop app is Windows. The browser version works on any computer.
Can I try it before I buy?
Yes. Designing in your browser is free — profile, rings, woods, patterns and the 3D preview — and your first cut list is free too. After that a cut list is $6.00, and your first purchase includes one bonus cut list. The $99 desktop licence is a one-time purchase.
Can I get a refund?
The desktop licence comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee, and unused cut-list credits are refundable within 30 days — see our Refund Policy.
